Kevin McKinney of Soulhat was in the studio. We did a little reminiscing, and gave away some tickets to the sold out Soulhat show happening Saturday at Antone’s.

Far From Saints – “Faded Black” (Far From Saints) This is a collaboration between Austin’s Patty Lynn & Dwight Baker (of The Wind + The Wave) with Kelly Jones of the Welsh band Stereophonics. Spin magazine called the album “breathtaking.”
The Bright Light Social Hour – “Lifers Only/Death of a Lifer” (Emergency Leisure) TBLSH are super busy with the release of their new album a few weeks ago, and have a ton of tour dates coming up. They’ll be playing The Mohawk on 9/30. I was transfixed by this video of them playing live at the Howler Hacienda
