April 21, 2020 marked the 4th anniversary of Prince’s death and CBS aired “Let’s Go Crazy: The GRAMMY Salute To Prince.” The Revolution, Sheila E., Morris Day and the Time, Dave Grohl, Usher, Chris Martin, Beck, and other stars actually performed together on stage in front of an audience as it was recoded before the stay-at-home orders went into place. My favorite performance of the night was Foo Fighters performing Darling Nikki, a song they recorded 20 years ago but haven’t performed it since. Dave even joked he wasn’t sure Prince liked their version. Here are some highlights.

I have been a fan of Prince for decades and seen many live performances. I mean he even played SXSW once. But I have to say the performance that shows what an amazing guitarist he was is in the video at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame paying tribute to George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” with Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and others. Pay attention to the end where he throws his guitar up in the air and it doesn’t come back. Where did it go?
